Philips DVD Player Multi Region
The Philips DVD Player Multi Region players allow you to play British DVDs imported from the UK (known as Region 2), as well as your existing American DVD collection (known as Region 1) - all with the same excellent DVD player.
This is especially handy for American fans of British comedy shows, as some of the shows are not currently available in Region 1 format. With a region free player hooked up to your existing TV, you can shop freely at Amazon.co.uk for those DVDs that haven’t been released in North America, and may never be. If there’s a britcom I want on DVD, I check for it at Amazon.com first, and if it’s not available, I can check Amazon.co.uk and buy it there. Either way, it will play in my Philips player!
Prices on these region free DVD players have come down to the point where they are no more expensive than regular players which do not allow you to play imported DVDs.
I have owned a Philips Multi Region DVD player for several years, and absolutely love it. It took about 1 minute to set it up to play region-free, and from then on it has played absolutely any imported disc I put into it. Flawlessly. I can’t say enough good things about it. And it was so affordable, I bought an extra one for the bedroom so I can get my britcom DVD fix at bedtime.
If you’re thinking of buying a region free player, I can highly recommend the Philips Multi Region DVD players from personal experience. I’ve given a link to all of the region free DVD players at Amazon.com, so you can easily do your own research.
